Emily Nell Yellow Bird shares a light moment while talking about her artwork at Livingston’s Frame Garden last week. Her work is based on a German folk craft called “scherenschnitte,” or paper cutting. Below: A closeup photo shows details of her craft. Yellow Bird paints an image on paper, and then carefully cuts out the image with an Exacto knife. Click here to read full article.

"Crooning for Crocus and Everything Spring" caught the eye of the hospital panel as they voted to add it to their permanent collection in their new wing.

Emily shares, "I am honored to be represented by the hospital and hope the meadowlarks bring many a smile and warm feeling to the patients and visitors. Perhaps they will sing a tune."

She shares, "My husband and I have worked in the Havre Public Schools numerous times as Artist in Residence. This provided an opportunity to connect with the public in a new way."

"SHINE" symbolizes a life well lived and was collected by an art teacher who's mantra is such. Stacy has a beautiful spirit- her selflessness and love of art is making a difference in the lives of students. Thank you Stacy for sharing your gifts.

Featured Artist, Frame Garden, Livingston MT, August -September 2014

Emily provided 2 back to back demonstrations where she shared her unique story as an artist.

Fine Art to Folk Art: Monte Yellow Bird AKA Black Pinto Horse, Emily's husband was the featured artist of July- August. He had a very positive reception and his finely executed works captured the crowd. His ledger art and vibrant oils on canvas were taken down and in their place Emily's paper cuts with watercolor were hung.

She is showing works from her very popular series, "Centripetal Satires". Designs are forever swirling and twirling in her mind. They are meant to bring delight and awaken your imagination of the natural world. Make inquiries with the Frame Garden, 406.222.5122
